I believe you can still use boiling water 🤔 I’m sure when I was researching that’s still an option! As long as you leave them for the correct amount of time. Otherwise you could get a steam steriliser x
They used boiling water when we were in hospital a few weeks ago x
The MAM bottles you can sterilise in the microwave really easily x
We use the mam bottles which can be sterilised in the microwave but being completely honestly I hardly ever do that, I just wash them in hot soapy water and leave to dry and my baby is completely fine 🙄
And I use my UV steriliser religiously 👀 Anxiety wouldn't let me not to, honestly.
These is many things they say you should do now which we didn’t have to do 7 years ago and my daughter was absolutely fine which I have been doing this time around and my son is absolutely fine
You can. There’s no evidence against it. You just need the correct time. With technology, it’s just waaay easier to use various sterilisers in the market. I use the steam one, coz I can leave it and it dries off automatically.
Boiling water is completely fine. I hate the Milton tablets smell too!
@Claire im 26 and the way my parents parented we basically are advised to not do any of that anymore and it just doesn’t make sense to me
@Eliza my health visitor told me I couldn’t and it confused me. I had the Tommie tippie steam steriliser but I didn’t find it worked that well
Thanks everyone I’m Just going To use boiling water from now now! Just like the good old days 😂😂
@Melissa @Pauli I had to change from the MAM bottles as they gave my baby really bad gas I’ve seen such a difference since I’ve swapped x
@Kerry see when I was in there they used hot running water to re sterilise the dummy when it fell onto the floor but my local one uses the Milton cold water sterilier and it just smells like bleach (because the tablets basically are diluted bleach) the bottles come out feeling clean don’t get me wrong but I just don’t like the thought of putting unnecessary chemicals into my baby
I thought it was still an option 😅 I used the Milton and having to dip your hand in ice cold water at 3am was horrible so I got a steam steriliser. Although I think somethings are a ‘guide’ and I believe it’s up to us to continue to research and do what we feel is safe for our babies. I too have went against the ‘recommendation’ of somethings after doing my own research like throwing a bottle of expressed milk away after one hour of starting drinking 🥲 I follow safety of safe sleep and car seat etc to a tee obviously x
oh since when has this been a problem? i just sterilise my bottles and pump parts in boiling water 😳
