Writing/ coloring

My 3 year old just refuses to do anything with writing or coloring. I've introduced crayons and coloring books since she was 2 and she never cared for them. Since she'll be starting 3k in September I wanted to teach her to write her name. Kids in my home country are taught to write their names before they go to school and I wanted to do that with her. She just refuses and get upset. She only likes to paint. It I say let's trace your name today she'll say I want to paint it. Ugh any tips?

Yep, let her paint it. Let her write it in chalk outside. Let her shape it out of playdoh or trace it in sugar that you pour all over the counter. Get bathtub crayons and write it on the shower wall. Let her use magnetic letters to spell it on the fridge. Whatever it takes to hold her attention and interest. Someone shared this with me when I was introducing my 2 1/2 year old to alphabets. Worked wonders!

@Eve thank you for the suggestions I will definitely implement them. We've been doing some outdoor chalk since the weather is getting better

Best of luck! Remember that Play is their love language right now, so keep it fun and you can't go wrong.

Try paint sticks! They’re like crayons but feel as smooth as paint for them ✨
