Leave kids in car????

My eye clinic just got my glasses in and I want to go get them because my old are broken. But I have my 3 kids and my fiance is out working so I asked them if they could bring it out because of my kids being in the car, they said it won’t take long .. I’m thinking I might just call when I arrive I don’t feel comfy leaving my 3, 2 and 1yo in the car by themselves. Thoughts?? She’s crazy right?

Don’t do it anything could happen. You would never forgive yourself if you went in and your car get ran into or someone tries to break in your car or even something rare like one of them starts choking. It just isn’t worth it in my opinion. Id either ask them to bring it out or you take all your kids in!

They shouldn’t encourage you to leave your kids in the car. I’ve only done it at my home personally. I left my car ON with my dog in it and people wanted to break my window.. so yeah no (I’m in Florida)

Call when you get there.. ask if they can please bring them out if you pay over the phone. You need them but cannot add to your stress level by unloading and loading 3 tiny children for 5 minutes

Can anyone else do it for you? Anyone at all? I’d just send my sister. Or a close local friend.

I’ve worked at two different eyeglass places. We can run them out to your car. You’ll just have to come back if you need them adjusted. She’s crazy

Thank y’all I’m like she’s crazy I’m gunna just call anyway it’s like 15 ft she has to walk come on I can’t go myself😭

@Heidi yea honestly she seems lazy for not wanting to bring it if it’s gonna be quick then it shouldn’t be an issue for her to bring it?… since it’s quick right? lol

@Kellie sadly no I’m the only one and my fiance is working out of state ugh plus they might be weird and require me for ID purposes I think either way I’m on my way she better have her shoes on! Lol

Yay okay I got a different lady on the phone she said they’ll be out soon there’s no way i was leaving 3, 2, and 1 by themselves

@🩷 Patience 🩷 exactly!! I don’t even care if it’s slightly loose or tight my other glasses have one side so I need this!

Call when u get there, IK it’s long but I might just have to take them out the car with u

My eye doctor brings the glasses out to your car. Ever since Covid it’s been standard unless you call in for a fitting appointment

@Olivia that’s what I was thinking why encourage something that’s risky I’ve seen videos of kids being taken even in the car at their house while parent was inside! Scary

You'd rather be annoyed bringing them in than regret leaving them behind and something happens. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN.

@Heidi yup probably never doing that again now… I only mainly do it when I see my neighbors 4 tiny kids running around… still probably not best.

@Olivia it’s such a small clinic and I did, they literally ran it out took 10 seconds not even. I’m thankful the the second woman was nice 🙏🏻

If it won’t take long then they can come out. You’d have to get every kid out of the car seat and load them up in a stroller and then go in and stress about them. No thanks THEY can come out. You never know if there’s no one to help you so now you’re waiting longer

I’d take mine in. I took my twins in to the opticians the other day with me to get new glasses

You just never ever know, I can’t take that risk tbh

just bring them in

Are you sure she’s suggesting to leave them? Or is she saying don’t worry it won’t take long just bring them in ? Either way still cheeky to say in my opinion, defo try and call when you arrive as you may get someone nicer answer the phone, but defo don’t leave them xx

Very dangerous. Never under any circumstance. Someone could easily steal your car with them in it! It happens.

Was she implying leave them in the car or that it won't take a minute if you just take them in? I wouldn't leave them because what if they're on the phone or there is a queue to be seen when you arrive. I'd either take them in or ask someone to come with and just sit in the car with them if you can?

I've run into a place before IF I can see the car the whole time AND it'll literally only be 1-2 minutes. But I can lock my car and leave it running, so I feel safe.

Take kids with you

Never in a million years for even 5 seconds.

Call them and ask them to bring your glasses out, maybe say your kid fell asleep in the car. I wouldn’t leave them

@Ceri-Ann it was some ordered weeks ago nothing needed adjustments and I’d have to strap two of my fighting toddlers into a wagon and lug my 1yo car seat around (last time I used the wrap it got tangled, bad experience tho I’ve used it a lot just not with the other kids) literally JUST to run in for one second. If I had to I would but having been told by one just leave them, I thought I’d call again in the lot to ask which they did thankfully

@Abbi at the time she literally said it’ll only take a few minutes they’ll be fine 😭 I’m like alrighty (I’ll call back) I’ll be there soon! And yes I got someone way nicer after who brought them out thankfully

@Allyson exactly!

@Eli I only say she means leave them because she said they’ll be fine, I said I have my kids in the car could you just come out? As it’s literally just pickup and rather than lug my 3 kids in just run out which some nice lady did🙏🏻

@Jessica even then! I had to run to an outdoor gas pump station which was 5 feet cus I got the closest and still my heart was beating crazy I can’t leave my kids out of my sight idk what I’ll do when they’re older and don’t answer😭

@Heidi wow I’d never think about saying that to any one let alone at work! must not have kids 🫣🫣 glad someone ran it out to you in the end!

When you have kids, this is the type of shit you have to think about. You have to sacrifice your “precious 5 minutes” to prioritise your children’s safety over you not wanting to leave the car to ensure your children aren’t left unsupervised in a car. 😁

Yeah I don’t know why they wouldn’t run them out, I feel like the person who said “it won’t take long” just didn’t register what you said. Seriously people can’t process anything you tell them these days .. 🫠

Could never be me but then again I was severely neglected and have trauma 🤣

I’d leave them if I literally knew it was be like a min and I could see them. Bit of I had to go into a back room or pay and sign something that would take a while then probably not

Who tells someone to leave their kids in the car? That’s so odd. I wouldn’t do it. Crazy stuff can happen so quickly. It’s not worth it. I’d either take them in or call them and ask them to bring them out.

I think your the crazy one for even considering leaving your kids in the car in the first place 🤔

You could get your kids taken away I think, I would tell them bring out my glasses or you want a refund. It's really not a big deal to run a pair of glasses out to your car. I would honestly be pissed if I was you

As a random side question: Do people leave their kid in the car strapped in at a gas station ⛽️ when going into the station to pay?

@Julia No. it doesn’t take long to smash a car window and kidnap a child.

Let's say aged 3

@Julia I don’t personally drive but absolutely not, take them out or go to a pay at pump

It take one minute for something to happen. No way.

@Julia my dad left me and my brother in the car few times but nah I couldn’t even if “you lock the doors” people are crazy

@Julia no there is literally a news report of a man who jumped in a car at a gas station with a baby in the car. Once he realized a kid was in the car he came back and lectured the mom for leaving her child in the car. It could’ve went worse but even criminals think it’s stupid lol.

There’s also a video of someone jumping in a car while the women is AT THE PUMP and driving away with her child in the car
