Planned section at Medway Hospital

Hey, I haven’t had a planned c section in Medway but having 2 planned c section and 3 c sections in total. They should have had the conversation with you from 36 weeks. Despite having a planned c section, babies can come at anytime. Which my son did at 38 weeks + 1 day. They are slacking and if I was you I’ll be calling the hospital straight away. That is really poor on their behalf. You don’t need all of this confusion whist heavily pregnant. You should be relaxing x

I have a planned c section at Medway hospital too I’m 38 weeks today I tried calling the department but they are closed after 1pm so I called the midwife department they said the call will be a week before the actual c - section date so for example if they want to do it when your 39 weeks and 3 days then they will call you when your 38 weeks and 3 days and tell you

The midwife also gave me the aurella team number to call them in the morning tomorrow would you like it ?

I had a call on a Monday to say my section was on the Friday. I then got a call early Tuesday morning (7am) to say if I got to the hospital for a pre-op at 2pm that day I could have baby out tomorrow (Wednesday). Couldn’t fault them to be honest with letting me know. You may find they will call you during the week or very soon x

I had an elective cesarean at Medway in January, and think they called me the Wednesday before (was booked for the following thursday). It was a really lovely experience, and all of the staff there were so friendly and helpful. Couldn't have asked for anything more for the birth of our baby. I hope it all goes well!
