I am shook. I’m home alone with my kids. I had to use the bathroom and while I was in there maintenance walks in my house. Knocked once (barely my oldest came and told me and at the 2 nd knock I was walking down the hall and he’s unlocking my door)and bc no one answered just walked in. I have a few maintenance orders in (that have been fixed and one not finished and this wasn’t the same people there is like 3 different companies for my one building) I’m so shook. Like what if I was in the shower home completely alone kids at school/ daycare and hubs at work. Like I’m so freaked out. And I know that they can come into the apartment if they knock and no one answered. But bro my kids are loud as fuck along with the tv loud. I know this probably makes no sense I’m just ranting. I have no family or friends near me that I can call and talk to. Now I have a new fear unlocked.

Make it clear to the office you don’t want anyone coming inside without you opening the door and someone is home. Make it very clear. Unless it’s an emergency it’s not necessary and this isn’t legal. They can’t just barge in there after one knock. We had issues with maintenance coming in with us not home and we complained so much that it’s on our file to never enter unless we come to the door and let them in.

Omg this same thing happened to me when I was pregnant. They came inside my apartment while I was asleep in bed with my partner! He’s a really light sleeper and we didn’t hear them until they were walking into our living room. Our bedroom door was open and we have a straight view to the living room and front door. I woke up to make eye contact with this lady who proceeded to ask if she could “just look in the bathroom?” 😐
