Accidentally pulled baby’s foreskin

So my 11 month old had some kind of goopy discharge. I pulled it back a tiny bit to see if it was from there. Pulled it back the slightest bit and I noticed it actually pulls back. It seemed There was no discomfort at all for him. I will not do it again I read it’s not supposed to until they are a good amount of years old. Question is, should I be concerned that I was able to pull it back a little? I didn’t pull it enough to go back the entire tip. Has anyone went through something similar??

I pull my babies back everyday when I wash or wipe him

Baby is intact? You should never ever pull the foreskin back. Only the person whose body the penis is on should be retracting the foreskin.

@Lauryn if baby is intact you should not be retracting at all.

If you don't pull back the baby's foreskin when you're cleaning them it can lead to things being trapped in there and cause infection every doctor will tell you to pull back the foreskin and clean it off.

@Alyssa I'm not talking about forcefully pulling it back I mean like when you wipe down it comes back so you can actually clean the tip that is hidden under the foreskin. I understand that some babies don't have enough for it to cover the tip but that's not the case for all babies like my son. Our pediatrician told us to make sure you get the tip after it's been gently exposed so bacteria doesn't grow.

A lot of intact babies have a tiny amount of skin that can be pulled back. And can get infected. Please talk to your pediatrician about this!! If you were told not to then your baby does not have this. It doesn’t mean other moms are wrong for doing it 🤦‍♀️

@Dominica McLear no retraction should be done at all. Unfortunately many pediatricians are out of date for intact care! Yourwholebaby.org is a great resource to learn from!
