First jags calpol advice

My baby boy had his first jags today. We gave him calpol right after them to prevent a fever. It’s now been 8 hours, Iv checked his temp and it’s at 37.3 so not got a fever but il be keeping an eye on it. How is everyone doing the calpol ? Did anyone else just do the one dose and then monitor and only give more if a fever started or have you automatically done more doses every 4-6 hours ? I’m not sure if I should be giving him more or just wait and see and give more if needed ?

i’d personally just give it as and when it’s needed. with a 4-6 hour gap. my little boy only had the three doses to help with the aching in his legs as he didn’t run any temperature or any other side effects.

The nurse advised that we give 3 doses all together, even if they seem okay

Iv just given him another dose, I figured I’d rather prevent than treat and since I know another dose won’t do him any harm

I was told to give the 3 doses to prevent fever even if no symptoms.

I done it for the first 24 hours and then stopped giving her it, even tho she didn’t get a fever or sore thankfully. Xx

Because of these ones specifically causing a temp you are to give 3 doses total. The nurses should’ve advised you that along with the health visitor. It’s to help present a temp and if calpol doesn’t stop the temp that’s when you go to docs/hospital x

I was told give 3 doses 4-6hrs apart to prevent a fever

3 doses as per nurses advice
