I do diaper free time with my little boy when I’m either getting him dressed in the morning or getting him ready for bed. Best thing is I’ve found is throwing the used vest or a towel underneath/over the area and can catch any pee
Picnic rug on the floor or outside on the grass. It’s waterproof, when it gets wet it won’t go down to the floorboards. He just lies on that playing, nappy free w his toys. I just wash it. I’m also a cloth diaper mum which means sometimes I just wrap a Terry cloth diaper around his bum and secure it w a snappi, the modern day pin. It’s cotton, it’s breathable, but no mess.
Thank you ladies. I really want his private parts to breathe. Both suggested solutions (above) are excellent. I’m also a cloth diaper mum but not exclusively - but being free of clothing / diapers for an hour / two hours will make him feel more comfortable. Especially as we head into summer. I’ll report back on my success.
There are many cloth diaper available. I had 6 cloth diaper and I used to keep my son diaper free just after his potty . Keep checking in and change when it’s wet . For 6 weeks baby , you may need to change every 15 mins . If it’s summer time and hot , I just let him play on play mat and wipe it later . Daytime is perfect between the naps , they are playful and really enjoy diaper free time .
