Good European holidays with kids?

We are in the UK and just had our first holiday away since having children (6 and 2). We only went as far as Dublin - it was exhausting! Also not very child friendly (couple of good museums but it was a bit painful waiting for things to open in the morning as children wake at dawn). Any recommendations really really appreciated before we give up on holidays for the next decade?

We love a villa holiday. We’ve then have our own space hire a car and can go off when we want or just hang by the pool. We’ve Done Greek islands a few times. We loved Morocco too.

Greek islands do look a nice option, do you go with a group though?

We’ve done both. Group of 6 adults and 7 kids (mayhem but ace) and then just then us. Both were great and super easy. We personally find staying in hotels quite stressful with kids (just not enough space!) so always opt for Airbnb or villa for the space and flexibility. We also had a great time in South Africa as well (probably cost the same as a villa holiday in Greece!). We find the kids really respond to new cultures and exciting environments like that

Have only been out of the country with kids twice over 6 years, both to Ireland, both self catering to save on dinners etc. so this is handy!
