I’ve tried gripe water recently and it’s been great. It helps my little one go to the toilet and also pass wind. Might be worth a try? I only use it a few times at night as that’s when shes worst x
@Lana I do think it could be a phase as my 2 month old was doing this at around 3/4 weeks of age but then stopped after. It could just be their body is still adjusting to everything
I have no advice but wanted to let you know my 3 week old is exactly the same 😞 maybe it is just a phase but so horrible seeing them in pain!!
Just checked gripe water is only ok to use from 1 month sorry xx
Mine did the same last night she’s 17 days old. :( for the last week or so though she’s only pooed once every 2-3 days but yesterday she did 2 poos so I’m taking that as a win. Are you burping after every breastfeed? I wasn’t and I think I caused her a bit of gas build up poor thing :(
My 3 week old is the same too 😭 I think it’s just a phase of them learning to use their muscles to poo xx
I haven’t given anything to my LO, now by 6 weeks it got better but he still sometimes struggles. I try to do tummy time, belly massage (before he has eaten) and bicycle legs. Another things is holding him with his legs to his belly/chest vertically for 5 minutes. He would be facing away with his back against my belly. I do this when he is not in pain and he poops/farts usually during this. If you do it above the sink, keeping your LO naked, it might save the nappy) I also heard you can eat dill yourself and drink a lot of water so it will pass through your milk. Not sure how scientific this is) And burping baby every time. I was skipping this and I think it was a reason for gas buildup.
I had my March baby in February and she went through this too from about 2 weeks to 6 weeks, she’ll be 8 weeks on Saturday and has gotten herself a bit more used to and comfortable doing a poo if this is any comfort! Think it’s just a case of riding it out and trying different techniques to help Xx
My LG is 4 weeks tomorrow and we’re going through the same thing, we have however been giving infacol over recent days but not sure if it’s helping as of yet as hasn’t built up in her system
I’m dealing with this too! My baby will be 3 weeks on Thursday and all night he has woken himself up with trying to pass gas/poo. He looks so uncomfortable I don’t know what to do ! The houses, scrunching and stretching is heartbreaking. I’ve done the massages, trying to burp etc. just wondering if it’s a phase ? I’m stressing myself out! You ain’t alone mama xx
