Bath seats

Can anyone recommend a bath seat please? My 1yo is too big for her shnuggle bath but keeps slipping in our big bath. It’s really awkward to sit and support her as we have a small P shape bath with a fixed glass shower screen so hard to bend round. TIA :)

Do you have a non slip mat or anything on the bottom?

@Natalie nope. Was going to get one but wondered whether a seat would be better. She does like reaching for all her toys though so maybe that would be? Idk

@Georgia id try one cos that can be used for a lot longer if it does work for you. If it doesn't then you could look for a bath seat. I believe most would have been outgrown by now.

@Natalie okay I’ll give that a go. Thank you 🥰

@Georgia no problem. We have one that stays in the bath at all times. Have done since my daughter was about 1. She's almost 3 now.

Could you try going in with her? That’s the only thing that worked for us since we have an awkward shape bath too and she always hated it on her own anyway x

I'd second just getting a non slip mat now, we started just putting my son in the bath with that when he was about 1 as he was uncomfortable in any of the seats. He enjoys the bath much more now as he can splash about properly! X

I’ve always used Terry towels, like a hand towel on the bottom of the baby bath to provide non slip. You can then get it wet frequently with warm water and wrap the sides round babies belly etc to keep them warm as you bath them. As soon as baby can sit, we use the big bath with a non slip mat. Has worked well for us with our first xx

My 6 month old kicks soooooo much (all the time) and kicks out of every seat I’ve bought so now has a bath mat and goes straight in the bath. He loves it.

We've got the shnuggle toddler bath x

Have you tried putting them in the kitchen sink?

Thanks everyone. I’ll give a mat a try 🥰

There’s one on Amazon that I used with my LO, it had an activity tray with it. Bit of a faff to put together - partner decided to try doing it without reading the instructions first 😂 Worked really well for us. LO loves bath time, and has always been an active participant, so really helped. Link - https://amzn.eu/d/4EqPLvV

Another idea I thought was clever is to put them in a laundry basket, the ones with lots of holes on the side, even better if it has a silicon material in the bottom like the expandable ones. Then they can sit up and be contained and as a bonus it makes toy clean up easier. Don’t thank me, thank Pinterest! 😂

I bought a inflatable little tub on Amazon so she can sit in the bath while I shower!

Been using this since June and she’s starting to get a little too big for it: https://a.co/d/04DDNPK

Definitely do a non slip mat don’t get a seat it gets too in the way and they can’t play that much
