@Giorgia I’m really interested in the hop on because I feel it wouldn’t be as intense on my back but also the shoulder on seems more secure on baby’s back in case they throw themselves back 😂
My little boy is almost 8 months, but very heavy 😂 I ordered one similar to the pic on the right as I was really struggling carrying him about all day. Tbh, I found I still had a very sore back it didn't really help much. But I get what you mean about the strap giving extra support. If only you could get something that combines the both of them haha
A ring sling or pouch sound like they might suit? Neither of the ones shared there are hands free so likely would only help you for a short period. Do you have a sling library near you to help advise? Some do online consultations for quite cheap too if not x

If you have a bad back, then a proper carrier would actually be better than something like this as it spreads the weight evenly. Something like a tula, Integra, Lenny lamb, would basically then be like wearing a back pack. I still carry my 3 yr old in a toddler tula without any difficulty. Id recommend seeing if you have a sling library in your area to try some out!
I'd be interested as well... mine is 6 months old, but same size as yours 😅😅
