Conflicting about brands or stocking up?xx

Sorry I should have explained! Conflicting brands

I think it depends on the baby. My friends all swore by the Aldi ones but for my baby they fit the worst and leaked so badly. My baby was long and skinny and pampers were the best fit for us. I think sometimes it can be a bit of trial and error. We also didn’t get on with the Lidl ones, but again people rave about them!

Definitely agree with @Rachel - my baby had a bad reaction to Asda ones but know others that use them all the time, also didn’t like the Lidl ones and have friends that rave about them!

I found it best to try a couple of brands. I’d recommend Pampers but I know a lot of mums that loved the Aldi nappies in the early days.

We were lucky to have a few unused bags given to us from friends so have tried aldi, pampers and Tesco. For us tbe Tesco ones have been the best fit so far by far. I wouldn't recommend stocking up more than a bag or two per brand size bevause they grow so quickly and it's such personal preference

We got a few different kinds to try before committing to one - we were on Aldi at first and now onto Tesco. I’d recommend trying whatever you have easy access to at first and seeing how baby gets on x

It’s conflicting because each baby reacts differently to even the “best” or “most expensive” nappy brand out there. What works for one night not work for another - it’s trial and error. Same as bottles, teats, formula. You’ll have to test it on your baby and see if they react or leak. For me, I swear by cloth. One stash, keep reusing, no leaks or blowouts and stress free that I never ever run out, they are always there for me to use, I don’t have to stress about stock on the shelves or any recalls or discontinuations or brand changes- having cloth, that doesn’t affect me at all. My baby rashed up in Huggies. And from there I switched to cloth I didn’t even bother trying anymore disposable brands

@Rachel 100% agree and I wanted Aldi and Lidl ones to work so bad because it was nice and cost friendly but didn’t work for my long skinny one too 😂 we eventually just used terries like old school for the first 2/3 ‘months then went on to use Huggies (my lo reacted to pampers😭) Basically mama for the first month or 2 it’ll be trial and error till you find what works xx

Baby poo isn’t solid so it’s easy to use terries to just wrap them in with a safety pin lol, 4 years on and we’ve never experienced nappy rash

Also recommend trying the brand at the supermarket you use most often. So you’re not going out of your way if you can help it!

Tesco have been very good to us, we use Pampers at night now though due to Tesco leaking. We just use them in the day now! But like everyone else has said, every baby seems to be different!

From experience Aldi are good up to a size 3 but leak for my kids after that. We currently use Tesco f and f ones. I don't like pampers I find them expensive and they smell chemically. My first daughter did really well with Lidl the entire way through until she was out of nappies but that was 3 years ago so I don't know if they are still good. Maybe buy a few of the smaller packs from different brands to try before settling. X

I know pampers are expensive but honestly they are the best, whenever we've tried a cheaper one, we've always ended up donating them because they just don't compare

you need to try them out unfortunately, they react differently for different kids. i could never ever afford pampers, so much money for such a small pack! so i always do supermarket ones (aldi, asda, tesco etc). some make kids leak, others don’t, every child reacts differently x

Tescos Fred and flo are good. Pampers leave my boy smelling of pee really bad x

I got a few packs of pampers, the free ones or money off but I have gone with Aldi, I’ve used nutmeg (Morrisons) but they don’t have the poo pocket at the back. Size one are in small packs, I would get a few see what works when baby is here and then sock up. Try out the supermarket you do your food shop at because it makes life that little bit easier.

I tried the bamboo ones which felt really soft and worked well. Used Lidl ones and they were good too. But now just stuck with pampers so far they’re just seem to work in size and leak less

I didn’t stock up on loads, I knew I could always get more when I’m running out or change a brand as I go

Mine have all reacted to the own brand nappies (sadly because they’re so much cheaper), so it’s always been pampers for us. They’re also softer, more malleable and seem to be more comfortable on their lil butts.

Nutmeg are well rated on which and reasonably priced (Morrisons). We've found them good

We went through 200 nappies in the first 10 days, I would defintely try different brands, we liked and used Hello Bello from Amazon in size NB before moving to Aldi for size 1 and 2, then changed to pampers from size 3, defintely depends on baby shape though and make sure you're putting the nappy on right, pulling ruffles out etc. Give each nappy a decent chance you'll soon realise which leak more etc. But you go through loads at the start so if you buy a pack of each you'll get through them quick enough without wasting them

Pampers were our favorite fit wise but baby was too sensitive for them. Huggies always fit him too small

My son was diddy and skinny when he was born so we found pampers fit the best, but they’re not cheap! When he got bigger we started using Aldi ones which were great, no leaks or blow outs. He’s now in size 2 and we use a mixture of both the Pampers and Aldi. Didn’t get on with Sainsbury’s at all
