Potty training tips

Is he showing signs of readiness? Mine has just started running to the toilet for wees and poos but its not every time, so i’m doing lots of encouraging but still wearing a nappy a he likes to watch himself wee on the floor too 😂 i’m buying a step up to make it fun, mine is also stripping constantly!! Xx

@Justine he’s been telling me when he poos and he sits on the potty and says poo ect he takes his nappy and trousers off so I was guessing so I’ve put him in pants 🫣😂xx

I read the ‘oh crap’ potty training book. It recommends being bottomless until they fully get that (usually a day or 2) then going commando for a month as pants can feel a bit like a nappy. However my boys trousers kept falling down so we moved to pants on about day 4 and he’s been ok. Also remember it may take a while before they don’t need to be prompted, I rushed that and it caused more accidents. I gently remind him regularly and then get him to try every hour or so/ at key times (like before food or going out). Travel potty is key for out and about. I’m on day 12 and had 3 days with no accidents. Good luck with it x

😂 you are brave!! But tbh if i had some to hand i would chuck mine in them too when we’re home. I’m just not ready for the mess just yet 😂 just keep reminding/encouraging. I got my oldest a sticker chart to follow when he really got the hang of it and had minimal accidents so thats an idea for later xxx

I’ve just taken a few weeks annual leave to start potty training today. Trying the bottomless approach, Was hit and miss. He lured me in to a false sense of security with his first wee of the day in the potty. I was buzzing thinking he’s cracked it already on day 1. Then the next 3 wees we’re on the floor 🤣 but we go again tomorrow. Patience is key I guess lol. I prepped the lounge. Rolling up my rug and shoving it under the stairs so laminate floor would be easier to clean. Haha we move. 🤪 xx
