Heathrow airport security

I was wondering if they make you remove your baby from a sling/baby carrier at airport security? I know they do for a pram but will they do this for a carrier?

Yeh they do. You normally have to pass them to whoever you're traveling with (or a member of airport staff) so that you can walk through after independently x

@Dani, Probably a dumb question, but what do they do if you're travelling alone? We're planning to travel ahead of my husband in summer so I'll be alone on our outbound flight.

One of the airport security staff will hold them for you whilst you walk through separately.

It's brief but pretty easy really they also swabbed my little ones hands and pulled his dummy out. Which is a bit worrying that someone must have done something with a baby in the past to make them have to do certain checks. But yeh.

Pass them through the scanner to whoever you’re travelling with.. If you’re travelling alone then you will have to pass them through the scanner to a member of security.. the carrier needs to go through the xray machine and the pushchair needs to be scanned separately too.

Yeah they do, they will hold them for you too if travelling alone. I just had to put the carrier through with the bags/pram etc and walk through with baby. If stopped (like you beep) someone will hold baby whilst you go in the big scanner for 10 secs.
