Oh that’s good to know. 38.3 when it spikes then calpol gets it down eventually. It’s been on and off for the past 2 days now! Was totally himself this morning then all of a sudden 4pm ish he went down hill temperature spiked again poor boy. He’s drinking loadssss of water and has eaten little bits and bobs but is off his food… plenty of wet nappies xx
On bless his heart 🩵 I'd definitely keep an eye on it in case it persists and ring 111 if it doesn't seem to go at all but the calpol working is definitely a good sign. If needed, you can give calpol and nurofen, but try and give the doses 2/3hrs apart so he's constantly getting some relief. Temp also has a bit of a tendency to spike around 3/4am as well (advised by a paeds consultant when we had a trip to a&e) so keep meds on hand in case he wakes in the night. I also find fruit sorbet helped my LB, meant he was getting more fluids when he wasn't drinking a lot (although yours is) and gave his gums some relief too (although I try not to give it too often, much to his disappointment 😅) My LB is always picky with food when he's teething too, and although I do BLW, sometimes find the only thing I can get in him his pouches or the little 12+ month dishes they do. Although I'd try not to be concerned with that anyway as the fluid intake is more important when they're under the weather x
Yes! He gets a temperature overnight but is fine by morning it’s very strange x
My LB occasionally gets a fever when he's teething. It never lasts long and a dose of nurofen always seems to help more than calpol for us. My LB has also had really bad bugs and a fever of almost 40 and the Dr's have always said not to worry as a baby having a fever is just their bodies working to fight off any possible infection, so long as they are retaining some fluid, having wet nappies etc. Has your LO had a fever for long? What's his temp sitting at? X
