The problem with gun control is it doesnât matter how many laws there are, criminals will still do whatever they want. FSU is, unfortunately, a good example of this because firearms are prohibited on university and college campuses.
Nope. Those placated by the âguns donât kill people, people kill peopleâ doctrine will rather eat shit than entertain the thought that yesâŠsure, while itâs true that people pull the trigger, itâs the gun that makes the different between life and death. Take away the weapon away from the crazy person and all you have is a crazy person that is maybe throwing some punches đ and pleaseâŠThe knife argument is so pitiful. You go into a venue with a knife and an AR15, which weapon will be more fruitful? They also jump to the most extreme scenario and equate gun control with omg theyâre taking our guns!! NoâŠit just means tighter regulations on who can get their hands on gunsâŠeven if some criminals, looneys manage to get their hands on them, itâs still an effective way to reduce the likelihood. And maybe banning the regular public from having access to military execution style weapons isnât such a bad idea.
Take mental health more seriously. They donât go off themselves. More Laws arenât going to stop CRIMINALS from being criminals.
Theyâre also willfully ignorant or ignore the FACT that studies consistently show that countries with higher gun ownership also experience more gun violence and gun deaths. I also love the argument that we need our guns to fight our government in case of tyranny, etc. and I laugh bc letâs be realâŠif our government wants to take us out all they gotta do is handle it from the sky. Our guns are no match against their đŁ. Itâs just maddening that they put gun ownership above human life when we are clearly having major and recurrent issues around mass shootings. And as time goes by and more shootings happen, people are just becoming more desensitized. Those kind of people will only care when it directly affects them. Okay, rant over.
There is no way to fully control the state of mental health of a population. The person needs to seek help, and most of them donât. Or they fly under the radar. Besides, the US is not the only country with mental health issues. But the only country with all these mass shootings. So the mental health issue is another weak point.
@MJ_xo all of this!!!
@Sam LOL. mental illness does not cause mass shootings. So tired of this lame, misinformed argument.
@Haley okay criminals will be criminals so why create any laws in the first place right ? Why bother enforcing them? We might as well do away with the police force and the whole legal system. See how silly that sounds ?
@Haley What about all of the other countries with stricter restrictions that also have lower gun violence?
Where did I say they caused it? Never said that. I said mental health should be taken more seriously. If you wanna believe guns go off by themselves, more power to ya.
@MJ_xo itâs a point whether you acknowledge it or not. There are MANY points, itâs just ONE I pointed out.
@Maddy @incognito youâre right, it does sound silly to get rid of all laws just because criminals exist. That isnât what Iâm saying. Gun violence is a complex issue with various contributors that need addressed. Gun control isnât and shouldnât be the only answer.
@Sam not you trying to play smart with the âwhere did I sayâ line đ if thatâs not what you meant what was the reason for mentioning it?
Because last time I checked, I can say whatever I want, and it pertains to the post. You donât have to like it. You donât have to believe that there are more than one reason for gun violence. Thatâs your problem. Not mine. Have a good one âincognitoâ

@Sam awe you edited your original message. I thought I was âacting dumbâ âlast time I checked I can say whatever I wantâ how old are you girl đ Itâs not about me not liking it. Itâs pointing out that your claim is baseless. Yeah have a good night and pray itâs not your kid who gets sprayed with bullets
It is actually. Mental health IS a problem. But it isnât the ONLY problem. I can edit my comments and change it however many times I want. Freedom of speech. Iâm not engaging with you anymore. Itâs proved to be pointless. I changed what I said because I have no interest in arguing with someone like you. Have a good one.
@Sam Iâm not engaging with you anymore = I have no valid argument and want to act as if im departing because I want to take the high road. I get it. Bye Sam đđŒ
How is mental health issues not a valid point? I would LOVE to hear that explanation. No wonder why you posted incog. Post with your profile next time.
@Sam âŠso much for leaving. Sam your profile picture is a drawing of two hands. Even when youâre not incognito you are. Lastly do the work. Research, read a peer reviewed article or two or donât speak on things you know really donât know much about.
Exactly. You have no valid argument. Because mental health is a reason. Iâm not incognito⊠Iâm literally under my name đđ I have researched, which is how I came to my conclusion. Criminals will find a way to commit crime. Regardless of laws. So many things need to change and be addressed. đ€·đ»ââïž
@Sam hehe yeah!! you really got me!!
@Sam the most obvious and most feasible being gun control.
Whatever you say âincognitoâ. Do research yourself and quit tagging me.
@Haley gun control isnât and shouldnât be the only answer but are you admitting that itâs largely part of the issue? Like Maddy said why do other countries with stricter laws have less gun violence ?
@Sam lol
@Sam yeah. Laws, policies, regulations that make it harder for a criminal or someone with mental health issues to get a gun. It doesnât mean banning guns.
Ok girl. Keep your head in the sand. But youâre right. Maybe they do need to ban them all together (-;
@Sam it went over your head like I thought it would. I tried having a discussion but your response wasnât one that allowed for one. I donât argue with walls.
@incog no, Iâm not saying itâs a large part of the issue. Itâs a multifaceted issue. Depending on the countries youâre referring to, there are likely additional reasons why thereâs less gun crime (like social & cultural norms).
