Can I ask what happened with octopus and who you saw? I’ve had several recommendations for them so was thinking of using them
@Katy it was the owner Adam. He just did not seem good with kids at all (my son was probably around 15months when we went), he made no attempt to make my son feel comfortable or try to talk to him. He wouldn’t let me comfort him when he was crying and just wanted to show me the exercises etc whilst he was howling. Which obviously I couldn’t pay any attention to or learn. Everything he said was very ‘scientific’ not sure if that’s the right word, but he wasn’t describing things in a way someone who didn’t know about the body at a professional level would understand. He basically told me my son was disabled and had been starved of oxygen at birth (he isn’t, and he wasn’t), and that he would need two sessions a week for 6 months to see any improvement. He diagnosed him with low muscle tone (every professional / dr I saw after this said there’s absolutely nothing wrong with him. ) I think he just wanted the money because he could tell I was worried he wasn’t walking yet. But it’s probably
Worth a try as it’s the closest one? I might just have not got on with him lol. My son walked at 17/18 months and there’s nothing wrong with him. I honestly left that appointment at octopus terrified for my son’s future and cried my eyes out the whole way home. Xx
Thanks for letting me know, and sorry you had that experience, sounds awful and so stressful to be told that
I have heard multiple good recommendations for Adam so maybe you just caught him on a bad day
Glad your baby is fine now and didn’t have any major health issues underlying the delayed walking
I had a bad experience with octopus physiotherapy in Oxford personally, so I went a bit further to humanity physiotherapy in Warwick and they were great. Went for the same reason, delayed walking. I also took my son to a chiropractor (active family chiropractic in deddington) - which I’d previously been skeptical of but it did seem to help.
