Is Fluctuating tests Normal?

Hi there! I found out I was pregnant about a week ago, I should currently be 5w + 5d preggers (bout to be 6 days) I can't put 2 photos on here for some reason so I'll put the beginner tests in the comments However I've noticed my Hcg tests are fluctuating in Hcg strength. It's not necessarily getting weaker, it's just.. It looks weird I guess. With my #1 baby I had dye stealers when I found out and it stayed that way throughout so I'm not used to having to actually track the progression at all. Anyone had this and still had a perfectly healthy pregnancy throughout? I did try the hook effect test by diluting some of my pee and retrying but that ended up lighter than my original so I'm assuming that means it ain't that. Im also aware I'm testing 2x a day so I'm already going to try and give it 2-3 days before I test again for now and up my liquids aswell as take my pregnacare prenatals midday instead of in the morning when I wake up. If anyone can give me some insight, I'll be very thankful. Cheers đź’•

Only use first urine and maybe wait a few days in-between. Ik it's so hard not to test but I don't think you are doing yourself any favors testing this much or sweating the line difference. They really are only meant to detect hcg not really give you a level. Maybe do a clear blue that tells you how far along but remember to add the two weeks before ovulation.

yes

Theyre being taken at different times of the day and u will have had varying amounts of fluid before taking them so your pee may be more diluted on 1 day than the next day. I would stop testing and driving yourself mad. As hard as it is this is not a reliable way to check pregnancy progression

I know what you mean. My first pregnancy I didn’t have the worries that I have now as an experienced first mom. I think your mind kind of plays differently when you’re having your second. Honestly I did the same, then decided to stop cause I already starting to have anxiety about it all. It’s not helping me! 🥲 I think because our body knows what to do? I hope this helps. Also the comment above. Urine dilutes - and hormones are different from morning to afternoon to nighttime. You’ve got this. Pregnancy affirmations usually help! There’s Spotify - you can listen to. 🫂

Hey guys, thanks for the advice! Unfortunately I was right to test daily because this morning I've ended up peeing dark red blood and had it in my knickers. While right now the midwife is calling it spotting, if it does get heavier - she'll book me in for a transvaginal ultrasound. See I had this with my first, she was a heavier bleed than this however and bright red so this adds to my anxiety. The midwife has now asked me to continue testing frequently over the next 24-48hrs to ensure I haven't MC'd. I don't think I have as I don't have any cramping or pain but let's see. Appreciate everything that's been said

@Chloe hugs to you Chloe. Praying all goes well! đź«‚

Update: I miscarried. The Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit at my hospital said I did the right thing by tracking it like this and listening to my gut. This is my first ever MC, I'm so sorry to bring this news. I shall try again once my body has recovered. Especially as my little girl is begging for a sibling. Wish us luck in TTC for baby #3

@Chloe I am sorry to hear of your loss, Chloe. đź«‚ Hope you take it easy with yourself.
