My little one is not old enough yet but I never look down on parents using them. They are to ensure your child’s safety, I know a lot of people that use them and love them. Just a side note I thought it said “what do you think of toddler lashes” lol
We love our little backpack/harness leash
@Sarah toddler lashes 😂
Very good idea just got my 2 year old one today he keeps running away especially when we are going out
I have 6m twins and a 4yo. When the twins start walking they will absolutely have reins on, they will guaranteed try and run off in the opposite directions and I have more kids than hands to cross the road with!
They’re reins not leashes , they are amazing for giving them independence whilst being safe. I’ve used them with both of my kids
I used to think they were crazy but now that im a parent im 100% for being tethered to my baby at all times when she can walk but also cant communicate that well lol.
Go for a harness and not the wrist ones. They stretch and can get tangled on things. There is one harness one from Amazon that has one side that unclips and has a look for your hand to go through so it hangs on your wrist. If you want the link I’ll find it. No matter how many eyes are watching one kid that kid can still leg it within a split second. It’s better to have that safety net there just incase
I think you should do what makes you feel comfortable! I bought a set for just in case purposes! 😁
We have a backpack one. I’d rather see a kid on reins than have one running around getting under peoples feet. There’s a big gap between being a confident walker/runner and having the self control to stay close. No idea what the “kids don’t belong on leashes” people do with their kids during that time!
I bought some for my son when he started walking but I only ever actually used them once! He surprised me and learnt to stay close to me really quickly. If they make you feel more comfortable then go for it!
I’ll happily fight anyone who says they’re terrible and compares them to dogs (not happened on here but is usually the case). I’d rather “treat him like a dog” than have him hit by a car or fallen in a river. It’s still important to have them learn to hold your hand or not run off, but it’s a good backup to keep them safe
I don’t understand why people are so against them like they’re seen as (dog) leashes…. they’re to keep the child safe are they not?🤷🏻♀️ while giving them the independence to walk
@Lara as a parent of a child who has been hit by a car it’s the worst feeling in the world!

I don't like them but neither of my kids are runners. Apparently I was a nightmare and was absolutely on a lead for my own safety. We don't judge 🤷♀️
We had a backpack one. He kept toy in it. After a while he didn’t have it but if he ran off I put it on and he didn’t like it but he learnt he shouldn’t run off and stopped.
Why are people so against these??? Is it mainly an American thing to be against them? My girl used to have a backpack one when she first started walking out and about. I’d also encourage holding her hand at the same time though.
I can see both points of view as yes it can 'look' a little funny but ultimately it's a parent keeping their child safe and one who knows their child's personality - some kiddos are runners and toddlers are freakishly fast 😂 If you are going on holiday and are somewhere near open water, wobbly or steep sidewalks, different roads then absolutely go for it 👍🏽
I understand they can look daunting and you do get loads of dirty looks lol. But my daughter is 3 and autistic and she runs so much and has no sense of danger or of others so it’s so much easier and she loves the freedom than my hand. Also less risk of pulling her arm out of joint when she flings herself to the floor if you are just holding a rein instead of her hand! I prefer the wrist bracelet one looks so much better but my little girl figured out how to open it but think can get ones with locks now?? We use the chest one now, she’s gets on lovely with it. If you want to use one use one, ignore what anyone else thinks, you do you boo x
we don't use them but my eldest is a great hand holder and has been since she started walking. if my youngest turns out to be a runner i wouldn't have a problem using them, better safe than sorry!
I thought it said toddler lashes too 🤣🤣
I feel like the leashes look a little silly. I know they have bracelet leashes for kids. I’d prefer that over the ones that go on their back
