What week or month did your baby start pooing easier

I know some young newborns have trouble pooing but it thought it was meant to ease after a few weeks. when did your little ones find it easier and stop thrashing their legs around and straining all day/night? Thank you - a sleep deprived mum

Month 3-4 with my first

Around a month or so with my son, then he went to pooing every 4 or 5 days. He was BF

Mine is almost 4 now and still he struggles, but it might be due to cmpa Some days he poos without issues but still predominantly there is crying, straining and all that 😩

6 months and counting here! I've been dairy free for 6 weeks now to see if that helps.

3 Months it got better for us. It was very difficult seeing her struggle and I took her to the doctors to be told it’s normal and she developing how to go. Around 3 months it just suddenly started to happen and 4 months now she does one push with no noise and it happens.

@Natalie ahh 6 months!! Poor you and baby. There is still a question mark around my son’s dairy tolerance. Sometimes he shows symptoms of CMPA and other times just ‘normal baby’ so who knows. He’s always had trouble with feeds and never had a bottle without tears, same with bowel movements so not sure what is going on if I’m honest x

@Olivia manifesting this!!! Xx

Id say when he started solids. I had him on colic and constipation formula and kinda helped but since he's been on solids it's pretty much daily

@Lauren he’s on comfort formula now too 😭 I’m starting to think it could be CMPA but not too sure

My first was like this and still is constipated at 2... My second is six weeks and poops about 4 times every day 😆

If she’s awake somewhere between 3 and 4 months - we just have one push now for the main poo, and then a couple more pushes to get the dregs out! Annoyingly if she’s asleep she grunts and squirms for two hours or more, waking up then going back to sleep until it arrives.
