I've opted for the Bugaboo donkey 5 for my two year old and newborn.. it is pricey but well worth the money as we can turn it from a single into a double, and it fits most doorways pretty easily 🙂
@Gemma because I don't drive, I walk quite a lot so I think I'll need to put my two year old in it a lot just to be able to get places without her stopping to pick up every stick on the way 🤣 Thank you for telling me about the Joie! The paths around here aren't great so I'll avoid that one! X
@Kirsty ooh thank you, I'll have a look!
@Leodina ah thanks! I have looked at that but the cost has put me off 😅 x
@Bryony I did also look at the Ickle Bubba Venus double pram. They have this at Boots (minus the bassinet at the time).. I just didn't like the feel of it, and the bugaboo felt way more sturdy. We did manage to save a good amount on the Bugaboo as I have a blue light discount card. The one thing I would say when looking at the double prams is whether you want the kids side to side or one behind the other. Everyone has their own preferences and see if you can do some pushchair tests at Mama and Papas or John Lewis for free before buying.
@Bryony if you choose icicle bubba send me a pm and I can send you a code to get money off, we got £112 knocked off out travel system which helped loads x
I’ve got a cybex gazelle S, currently only going to be using it for my first but wanted to have the option to convert to a double, has so many options xx
We have a bugaboo donkey which is great. I love how flexible it is so you can change the direction of each seat independently and easily swap from single to double mode, and it's so easy to push even over really rough ground, steps, etc. Ours has been in pretty much constant use for 5 yrs and is still in really good condition. You can get some really good deals second hand or reconditioned as well
https://www.thenurserystore.com/p/puggle-memphis-2in1-duo-i-size-double-travel-system-with-safe-fit-isofix-base-cashmere I think I'm going with this one! The reviews are the best I've seen so far and i like that the car seat is included in the price!
I would avoid using a Puggle car seat. They're generally cheap Chinese seats with rebranded fabrics and not as extensively safety tested as the more trusted brands (Avionaut, Axkid, BeSafe, Britax, Cybex, Maxi-Cosi or Joie), and often don't give the best fit for newborns
Would a buggy board be an option? My Mum has one of the Joie duo’s at her house and it’s fine but it’s very flimsy and not great on anything other than a perfectly flat path. My little boy will be 2.5 when baby arrives so planning to baby wear baby as much as possible during summer so my toddler can use the buggy when he’s tired and then see how we’re doing going into winter. We actually have a double silver cross wave but it’s so heavy when it’s used as a double and it’s huge so trying to avoid it as much as possible. My first two only had 15 months between them but we were lucky that my daughter likes to walk and we only used it as a double for maybe 6 months and then she’d just stand on the bar when she got tired. Their such an expense for how little you end up using them 🙃
