Copper iud?

I want a non hormonal birth control and it’s between the copper iud & spermicide…the iud is way more effective but I’ve heard it can cause heavy periods & worse cramping. Wondering if there are any other negative side effects I should know about? What has been your experience if you have it?

I have a copper iud the kyleena, my periods are so light I wear panty liners and I don’t cramp. Before they used to be so heavy and 7 days so it’s actually gotten better

I have cooper iud, I barely get periods only spotting. No cramps or anything of that sort

I’m getting mine 12 weeks postpartum so following

@Jazlynn kyleena is NOT a copper coil. It’s a low dose hormonal coil

@Abbie oh my bad I just looked it up, you’re right 🤣

First few periods were bad but it got better

Mine was fine. If it got heavy I took ibuprofen

My copper iud is 5 months 🫣

Currently feeding my copper iud baby lol

I had a copper coil and reacted badly to it the whole time I had it I had constant spotting and sometimes heavier bleeding I had it for 9 months as soon as I had it taken out it stopped i didn’t know this could happen

I got my copper iud 7 months ago and so far it's been great no problems. although i be cramping constantly out of nowhere sometimes even when my period isn't supposed to come and my periods fluctuate sometimes they are heavy and sometimes they are normal not as heavy. I guess it all depends on your body.

I had the copper iud for two years and eventually had to take it out because of copper toxicity. My periods were awful! Eventually I started getting bone pain and my hip pain was unreal. Someone suggested it could be my iud so I took it out and the relief was instant. Your body rejects it. Be careful.
