8 days late for your period is definitely not too early for a positive test. You should generally get a positive a few days before period is due. Have you ovulated later than you think this month? The black circle looks similar to a gestational sac, it could be that, or it could be something else. What did the sonographer say?
That sure looks like a 5 week gestational pregnancy.
@Amy I’m also thinking the same thing, he said he can’t say for sure what it is because one there is nothing inside and two, I haven’t had a positive test yet. I think I will have to check in a week or so but it’s the not knowing which is stressing me out 😩
What did the professional who scanned you said?
When I was pregnant at 5 weeks I had an early scan and my scan showed exactly the same as that :) I had to go back to have another scan when I was a bit over 6 weeks then there was a heartbeat showing x

It does look like a pregnancy sac so maybe you have your dates wrong and it’s a start of a pregnancy ? Good luck keep us updated Baby dust ❤️
I wouldn’t say this looks like a sac, a typical gestational sac is hyperechoic (brighter around the outside), which I can’t see here. It may be an endometrial cyst which is totally normal x
I only seen one in pregnancy but not to sure
