How often does your baby poop

My baby is breastfed and he poos a few times a day. My daughter was the same at this age. Feeding used to help them get wind out and poo. But the range of normal is huge. One of our NCT group also breastfed only used to go once a week. I think it depends if they are uncomfortable and having issues as to whether it’s an issue.

I heard Breast fed babies can go awhile without pooing .. my daughter has breast milk and poops anywhere from 1- 2 - 4 Times a day . I did wonder why they held it so long my other daughter was formula fed and never pooped and always screamed in pain xx

She’s not in pain or showing signs of being uncomfortable but the doctors said don’t go more than 7 days she’s still her happy smiley self

My 10 week old little girl goes every 3 days ish! She is breastfed. I was told they absorb most of it and there isn't much waste with breast milk. My son however (who was also breastfed) went after every feed, sometimes as many as 10 times a day 🤦‍♀️

My 8 week old just went 5 days no poop and now one a day for three days , really common but I get why it’s worrying I hated it at first 😭 they can go up to 10 days without pooping on breastmilk because they can absorb everything! Xx

Though if she’s refusing to eat and straining and uncomfortable definitely get some advice x

My bf baby who’s 10 weeks generally only poops once every 5/6 days!

She’s still taking her full feeds and isn’t showing signs of being uncomfortable she was pooping before every bottle for a few weeks but the last 3 weeks she’s o it gone once a week to 8-10 days

Midwife told me once if baby get constipated give them a one of them pre-made bottle of formula help them poo but don’t hold me to that I’m not a doctor xx

@Georgia my first EBF baby would go like once every 10-12 days without fail from 0-4m - he was happy, content, not showing signs of discomfort and gaining weight as he should. He’s still a happy and content 3yo but poops more often now 🤣. My second (and now third) EBF babies would/does go a few times a day. There was no difference in diet changes or anything really drastic that would affect their output between the 3 of them. I did also bring up my first not pooping at every appointment with any health professional and they told me it was normal and he’s fine. My GP actually laughed at me after I’d brought it up for like the 10th time and was like to my baby “mama just wants you to poop more” 🤣

Try gripe water I swear by it my babes 2 months old and I only give her 2.5 or it and for her age she can have 5 but honestly it’s so good!

My baby didn't poop for 9 days. Went to hospital and they gave me suppository for him. He went and then it was 6 days and now it's been another 6 days. They told me to eat more fibre.

I’ll try and eat more fibre and see if it makes a difference thank you
