Aptamil comfort constipation

2 days ago I changed my babies formula from aptamil to aptamil comfort as she was experiencing extremely bad trapped wind/colic and was super unsettled 24/7, but today she has been in so much pain when pooing and we noticed that it had got stuck and she is now really sore . I was trying infacol but made her reflux worse and we were prescribed carobel but I think this may have contributed to her constipation today. Is it worth going back onto normal aptamil and seeing how she reacts or stick to comfort, she was having one poo a day but they were explosive! At a loss really ,hate seeing her in pain and I’m starting to feel like it’s my fault for trying all these different methods. Does anyone have any suggestions?

We moved to aptamil comfort from Hipp and my little boy was the same! Screaming when pooing! He now hasn’t been for 3 days and it’s been hell! Screaming and crying all day for the last 2 days! So draining! I don’t know what to do either! Hope you get the answers 😔

So horrible :(( I’ve ordered biogaia drops to try as they have great reviews for reducing unsettled tummies and crying I might go back to aptamil and continue with maybe less carobel as this is possibly contributing to the constipation too 😪 I have also thought she may be lactose intolerance hence the move to comfort as it’s broken down but honestly I hate seeing her in pain I would rather put up with the colic crying xx

We’ve been prescribed carobel but they also prescribed us laxatives at the same time as she was already a little constipated and went from pooing loads to going over 24 hours and really struggling. She did then end up even worse on carobel and was having basically solid poos so we was putting the smallest amount in each bottle for a day until she seemed to poo normally and now we’ve gone back up to her usual dose and she’s absolutely fine! Maybe phone the drs and see if you can get a laxative and try the same x

Also I’m not too sure if carobel is recommended to be used with comfort milk as that’s already designed to be thicker on its own so that could definitely be why she’s so constipated

Okay lovely, thankyou for your help I will definitely try that I might even just go back to normal milk and use the tiniest bit of Carobel I was doing 1/2 scoop for 4oz but prehaps that’s too much but your right comfort is must thicker already 🤦🏻‍♀️xx

Yeah I’d say maybe go back to her normal milk with the smallest bit of carobel for a day or until she has a pretty ‘normal’ poo and then go back to the usual dose. She’ll be absolutely fine once she gets it all out it’s probs just been a little too heavy on her belly x

Midwives said to us to just stick with first stage milks any brand because the others are just a marketing product. We’ve had our baby on aptamil but she gets constipated and struggles with wind so we’re trying cow and gate after GP advised to switch formulas to test if that helps. But still sticking with stage 1.

Changed to aptamil comfort with my oldest baba as a last resort before they diagnosed her with cmpa she was so constipated when she finally released her bowels it was white! Then the doctors finally realised and knew she was allergic! Keep going mama xx

Thankyou both , she has finally had a soft poo but was everywhere 🤣🤣🤣 seems I may have the opposite problem!
