Painful feeds

Does anyone else know about this? My LO is 8 weeks old and is starting to seem like he is in pain sometimes when we feed him (he takes formula). When it happens, He makes this high pitched sound and often eats much less than usual. He has spat up in the past if we don't keep him upright after a feed but, this is new. Now it seems like he eats less than before and wakes up a lot more frequently. I checked his mouth and don't see anything and he takes his paci as he normally does I'm booking him for an appointment ASAP but anyone go through this?

He might have a milk allergy/dairy intolerance. Although at 8 weeks this is a late development, it might still be the case. Definitely check with your doctor! X

@Robyn if he did have an allergy, wouldn't he have more symptoms and have it happens all the time that he is fussy?

I’m not 100% sure, I had a milk allergy and really struggled to poo when I was a baby, it took them a long long time to figure it out for me. My friends child didn’t develop the intolerance until like 5 months in so I’m not 100% sure how it works but it’s something I’d definitely want to rule out if I was in your position xx

@Robyn thanks so much for the advice. I definitely will be checking into this more with the gp

I hope everything goes well girl!! Might just be a very fussy baby which I hope for you is the case! 🤞🏻 if he does have a milk allergy, remember you can get the special milk prescribed by your doctor, rather than paying £30 for every tin 😳🧡🧡
