A dose of painkiller before and after obviously still following the dosage instructions. Lots of cuddles, get cozy on the couch x

The nurse at my pediatrician's office recommends feeding immediately after injections, either bottle or breast work, for comfort and distraction.

Breast or bottle before, during, after can help. Nurses are used to it and completely comfortable with it. Painkiller after for fever or pain if he's warm or seems fussy, and don't be surprised if he wants to sleep a lot. I wouldn't give painkiller beforehand, it's not advised anymore because there is a possibility it may reduce the inflammatory response and make the vaccine less effective.

I cried more than my baby did. Definitely a dose of Calpol before and then give as directed as the injection can raise the child's temperature

Only lower the temperature if it's above 39, you want the immune system to work well so the vaccination is effective. Also make sure when you pick up the baby or change them to accidentally put pressure on the injection site as it can be sensivitive

* NOT put pressure, sorry

Stay calm as they get affected by the mother. I say that but I cried the night before and during the vaccination 😂 I always feel absolutely awful when he cries.

What really helped us was rubbing ice cubes within 30-45 mins of injection . We tried it 4 out of 5 times and observed less swelling less pain fast recovery .
