I’d You hired a doula, what made you choose that specific doula?

I’m a doula but I trained with my doula and knew her previously. But questions to ask what is their experience, training. what hospitals have they supported. How to pay , Some doulas your insurance will pay for. Red flags not responding back to email calls or text, not having clear contracts or obligations.

She had tons of experience and specifically she had experience with high risk pregnancies. She also offered some additional services like home services I was interested in.

i felt the most comfortable with her and felt that she would be a good fit! we paid out of pocket. she was great, except for the fact that when i went into labor it was a snow storm and she wasn’t able to come. so she sent her “backup doula” which ended up being amazing! even though we had never met i immediately felt comfortable and safe with her, she helped me so so much
