Freaking out

I’m around 7+3, I last did a test on Thursday last week and had a ‘dye stealer’ (test in top of photo). I then did one this evening after being away for the long weekend and the line is so much lighter. I did do the test about 8pm so later than usual but would this cause that much of a difference? I have an early scan tomorrow but am now so so worried that something is going to have happened. I’ll test again in the morning but has anyone got positive stories about lines going lighter/tests done in the evening being much lighter?

My lines seemed lighter around the 7ish weeks mark, think it's something about the levels peaking, not sure, it being a later wee also would increase liklihood that it's more diluted so the line would be more faint💕 it's very very very common. My faint line is currently asleep next to me taking up space in my bed 🥰🥰

Was the first one in the morning and I’m guessing the second was evening if so the second one was taken when your pee was more diluted it’s always best to do morning pee rather than evening don’t worry too much x

You’ll be experiencing the hook effect where you hcg is too high it’s messing up the test. If you dilute your urine tomorrow morning with water, you should find that the line will be strong again xx

after 6 weeks there’s something called hook effect where once your hcg levels reach a certain level it doesn’t catch as much on a regular preg strip. for me my line was like yours on the bottom but my hcg was around 90,000. so it’s just possible it’s too high to detect

My advice would be to reconsider continual testing. It causes a lot of anxiety and doesn’t necessarily reflect the actual progression of the pregnancy. It can make you worry when you don’t need to. Speaking from lots of experience.

Try not to worry it’s hard at this time as it’s early but you have a scan booked so that’s a good thing best of luck and praying all is well

Same thing happened to me after 6 weeks baby was fine! Your lines can get lighter after your HCG peaks ...it's a very normal part of pregnancy although worrying ,this is very common ..don't worry .. pregnancy test aren't designed to show progress after 6 weeks as the test cannot register that high amount..only smaller amounts ,some tests will look lighter and some you will get dye stealer too .. results can vary alot now xx

@Julia thanks, I know I shouldn’t but it’s the only thing getting me through to my early scan 😂 I only have 1 more strip left so if all is well today I will stop after that
