New Wedding Band Set.

I want to ask my husband for a new wedding band set, but I know he won't really care to get one for me. Context: Been married for nearly 6 years (August of this year will make it six), had our vow renewal in 2022 after we reconciled, and we are expecting our second child in September. I wanted to get my original set resized, but at this point, I can't bring myself to go to a jeweler to do so because I'm not sure I'd wear the set anymore. It's been nearly three years or more since I've worn them and have been sporting a black tungsten ring for the time being. *** The only reason I'd want to get it resized is because he sold a very important gun of his in order to purchase the original engagement ring from a pawn shop. *** I've purchased wedding bands from websites for myself (nothing over $80), but it just doesn't feel the same. What should I do? (Here is a picture of my old set. One of the gems popped out at a prior workplace when I dropped it).

Maybe you can save up and get the gemstones from your original rings set into a new piece instead of buying something new. Maybe do it for a milestone anniversary (like 10 years) so you have time to save, find a designer and shop to work with, come up with a design and see how your husband feels about the idea. That way you'd be incorporating part of your original sentimental rings into something new.

I have a friend who is a jeweler and I love the idea that Raqi suggested! My husband picked out an anniversary band for me at 4 years married I picked out my original set after he proposed to me in 2012. I’m obsessed with my set and also thought of an upgrade in the future. We will be married 11 years this summer

@Christina🤱🏼🍂☕️♈️ The flow of your ring set is so cohesive and that is what I aim for. Happy Anniversary to y'all! I pray for many more years of a growing and evolving marriage.

Thank you! We’ve been together since 2005. He was my junior prom date lol Happy Anniversary to you and many more happy years ahead! Marriage takes work for sure 🫶🏻

My husband got me a new set both engagement and band at 3 years. Partially cause it was my favorite cut for the stone square to now emerald. I didn’t know he was doing it. But rings had come up again over the 3 years. We hit 5 this year and I think I’m gonna get another band to go on top. But maybe casually mentioning rings. Send a few videos of someone else showing off their new rings for anniversary or something. That way you can gauge his response.

@Khyia Doing this now! Thank you. ☺️

@Christina🤱🏼🍂☕️♈️ 2005 was a good year, in my opinion. At the time, I was 8, so enjoy that perspective. 😂 Marriage is a worthwhile journey. You get out of it what you put into it.

I was going on 17 when I met him haha Now we’re 37 and going on 40 and have a toddler. Life is an adventure and I definitely agree that life and marriage are what you put into them!
