when you burn a candle what do you personally do with the excess/melted wax?

i feel like any time i leave mine IN the candle it pools around the wicks and i can’t use the candle anymore so i either dump mine in the trash or poor it into a wax melt so i can reuse it later lol

You have to let the candle burn long enough for the wax to level out then blow it out and let it cool. Trim the wick to 1/4 inch (like 2/3 cm maybe?) before lighting again or it will burn too hot and tunnel in

@Anna👼👶👼👼 that part! I just recently learned that there is an actual right way to burn a candle lmao

@Anna👼👶👼👼 ya no i do. i likely keep them burning for too long even 😅 lol. but i just dont feel like the wax ever “evaporates” enough so even when its all leveled out it re-hardens and the wicks are low enough from burning that unless i dump the wax i cant relight the candle

Sometimes I'll take a metal stick tool I have (my husband and I got a candle kit lol) and cut through the leftover on the glass ti help it burn down. As long as you let it burn flat (with or without help) it should get there! Burning too long can cause the wick to burn too fast (it burns hotter)

Depends if I have any witchcraft and wizardry to do that day 😂 with my fancy scented candles I just leave them and yell at my husband when he sticks his finger in it

I pour it into my wax burner and let it get solid and use it again
