Formula bottles

Appreciate that the guidelines say that formula should be discarded 2 hours after it’s made, but is there any harm to baby if this was longer? Sometimes my baby will only drink a couple of ounces and then want a top up a couple of hours later - can I get away with feeding her the same bottle or? (Obviously I want to do best for her, but just feels like a waste of the previous bottle ahhh!)

Bacteria can grow once saliva has touched the bottle that’s why the say discard after 1 hour of being used. It’s 2 hours for unused formula xx

Personally I have given my baby the same bottle if not finished a couple of hours after initial feeding. Lids are always used to cover the teat and it’s left in a cool room (our kitchen). It’s personal choice tbh I always just make sure the formula is made properly according to the instructions

As far as I'm aware it's 1 hour if it's been drank out of/touched babies lips and 2 hours from the time it's made if it's an untouched bottle. I wouldn't risk it personally but it is frustrating when the bottles get wasted! X

I do 2 hours even though he has touched it. As you can see some people follow the guidelines, some don't. Same with all baby stuff, find your own way!
