What is it that makes your little one scared?
My son is the same 😢
My son is 6 and is still the same way. We have to do scissors only and even then it is a fight.
Have you tried practicing on toys or dolls. Using last clippers that are gentler to practice and allow little man to hold so he can adjust gradually
Can dad show him at home or perhaps grandad to show him it doesn’t hurt going to barbers with dad or grandad or even uncle when they get their hair done if it’s the noise I’m sure you can find some quieter clippers online
My SO cut my nephews hair since he was 2 he is now 8 and he HATED the clippers literally had to be held down by 2 people. He is so much better now but there is a clipper clip on that helps reduce the loud noise near their ears
The hairdressers is an absolute nightmare for us also. We have found having the hairdryer blowing on him so he isn’t focusing on the sensation of the clippers also it dulls the noise of them. Also letting them play with the hair dryer (cold setting) .
@Ekaterina the noise and even if being in the same room as him it doesn’t have to be turned on for him to have a meltdown he doesn’t like his hair or ears being touched
@Amber I’m so scared to use the scissors he will be all over the place it wouldn’t be safe option x
@BreeAnna it doesn’t need to be turned on for him to have a meltdown even just by looking at it will cause a reaction x
@Stephanie it doesn’t need to be turned on for him to react he knows what it is and what it’s for, we got a quieter one it didn’t work for us
@Tiffany I’ve found online a comb with a grade on it so we will be trying this, he doesn’t like loud noises and will react x
do you need to cut his hair? I mean if it causes that much stress. Let him be
