I feel like at 5 they might even have an idea of their own! My daughter wanted miles morales so I got amazing friends toppers and used his mainly, got a custom cake with him and decorated with black and red and for her 4 she had picked ghost spider so it was pink and purple
We just do a theme of whatever they're into at the time. Older sis has done mermaids and unicorns the past couple of years for 5 and 6. 4yo has had Spiderman the past 2 years I think. They both wanted Chuck E. Cheese parties back in the fall and we just moved last year and the house isn't really ready for strangers to visit, and I was pregnant, so I went with the easy thing and they got their wish, win-win.
@Deanna We just went to a neighbor's bday party like that, they loved the ponies! That and a giant inflatable slide and the kids were plenty entertained.
We always do whatever my daughter is into at the time. This year she wanted a unicorn party, so that’s what she got. Amazon had the perfect birthday shirt, a unicorn in the shape of a 5

We're doing a cowgirl theme and renting a pony and horse for pony rides for our daughter. "Yee Haw - Saddle up for I's birthday party" Is her birthday near the 4th? Maybe you can do a patriotic theme and if you live in a state that you can do fireworks that would be cool Edit: I looked at Pinterest 😂 "Join us to celebrate our little miss Independent [name] turning 5" "Our little firecracker is turning 5!"
