Toddler won’t poo in toilet

Evening all, my nearly 3 year old has been toilet trained for wees and out of nappies in the day for nearly a year but she still refuses to poo on the toilet.. She gets herself in a right state when we ask her to poo on a toilet and holds her poos for days and then she gets severely constipated. We’ve started not pressuring her and just asking her to tell us when she needs a poo and we will put her in a nappy but my god I am sick of changing her nappy now, she gets herself in a right mess with poo all up her vagina etc and I am desperate for her to just go on the toilet!!! Have spoken to the health visitors and they have given me the usual advice that you get when googling it, which we have tried to no avail. We have tried sitting on toilet with nappy on, sitting with iPad and books for distractions, sticker charts, rewards, new pants etc. Has anyone else been through this and have any success stories of how I can get her finally pooing on the toilet?

My son is the same, I’ve been told to try superpoop books, but my son just calls them “yucky” when I try to entice him to read them with me 😭

My son is the same. Dr started him on Movicol but son still will only poo in a nappy. Blowing is meant to help so we got him bubbles or he blew bubbles in a water cup. It helped once and then cottoned on.

My daughter is the same! She’s in cosmicol to soften the poops and so now has no pain BUT she’d rather hide and do it. She then wants new pants. I’ve got so desperate I’ve bribed her with her favourite things e.g. a chocolate button for getting a poop in the toilet. I’ve used the pooland app and have started collecting Pom poms in a jar every-time she tries on the toilet (can’t give her chocolate for tries). She is starting to say she needs to go or if we catch her in time she will finish on the toilet but it’s very slow 😭

I’m in the exact same boat! I’ve got a health visitor coming Friday so I’m going to ask then… we’ve only been doing the wees for 2 weeks but poos are not giving me hope haha

We had difficulties in the begining, but introduced a "poop treat jar" so got LO to choose a jar in the shop and labelled it as the poop treat jar, for every poo in the toilet/potty she puts a pasta in the jar. When it's full (nearly there) we will take her to a toy shop and let her pick a reward. Not sure it will help everyone but was a game changer for us! Alongside lactulose in the earlier days but we are not needing to rely on that now. Also got some potty noisy books to encourage her to sit on the toilet/potty with. One was a baby shark one which Is awful but she liked it for the sounds! There's some good lift and flap books too and educational ones about the human body that I read other people found worked for them. Quick google/vinted you'll find some! Hope that helps anyone!
