Low lying placenta

Hi guys, when I had my 20 week scan, they said that I had a low-lying placenta, and they booked me in for a 32 week scan. Just wondering if anyone else has had this?

This popped up on my feed I had this and at the 32 week scan it had moved up and all good. Apparently very common for it to move up x

I had this in my first pregnancy with my placenta nearly covering my cervix. Had my 32 week scan and it had moved up! I'd be surprised if yours didn't it seems to be rare for it to stay where it is

Yes I had this at my 20 week scan. It was basically fully covering my cervix. Then had to have another scan at 32 weeks which was a transvaginal one just to check it had moved and it had fully moved. They say as you get bigger it moves and it’s so common for it to move x

I had low lying at my 20 weeks, they also suspected placenta accreta due to my previous C-section scar. I was booked for another scan at 32 weeks, at 23 weeks I started bleeding massively, which lasted for 4 days, I was admitted, the bleeding stopped on its own. I was referred to fetal medicine for another scan to be sure if it accreta or not at 25 weeks, it wasn’t accreta at 25 weeks, the sonographer did say the placenta had moved up a bit, she said even if it remains were it was during the scan there won’t be risk for bleeding during a C-section. Though I am scheduled for another scan at 32 weeks to be sure if it has completely moved up.

I had this with all of my pregnancies, the first pregnancy the placenta had moved so I could have a normal birth, the second the same and my 3rd it didn't budge when I went back for the latest scan so ended up having a planned c section. There's definitely chance for it to move so I wouldn't worry at this stage anyway

I had this in my first pregnancy, it moved by the time I had another scan at 32 weeks so all was fine to carry on as normal ☺️

Yes I’ve been booked in for this, I’m so worried about it not moving up, they said to me it can be totally normal for it to be low at this stage of pregnancy with it being an anterior placenta, but im just so scared of having a c section because of it as if it’s not atleast 2cm away from the cervix or you have any bleeding before baby’s due date it can lead to c section so quickly😭x

@Aliscia don't worry about having a c section they would have it planned if the placenta doesn't move to where it do and as for bleeding before baby's due date, i never had this and my experience with a planned c section was really good i was nervous as I'd not had one before but I couldn't fault it whatsoever. You have to think what's right for you and baby and as long as it's safe then you will both be fine. Hope it moves for you though so you can have a normal birth 🙏
