Karrot - buy/sell app

I'm starting to be convinced that people expect anything second hand to be under $100 no matter the condition, type of item or age of item. I've had buyers get outright angry at me for not wanting to sell my item for 50% or more off of the listing price. Which is already priced to sell. What is this entitlement? In my eyes... if you dont like the price you are fine to send an offer but if they decline, accept it or move on without getting upset.

Some people want stuff for next to nothing and they want high-end items super cheap and it’s like…. It just doesn’t work like that. I had to tell someone who was getting snarky with me that maybe the bag they wanted was simply out of their budget and that’s nobody else’s fault.

@Stacey 🇵🇸 some how that person made it sound like its your problem the bag was out of their budget. I'm sure you had it at a good price too and well taken care of. One of my items is a beautiful crib. It has no marks on it at all. Looks brand new... no stains etc. The person got upset with me because how could I expect a low income family to afford such things with my listing price... I had it set for almost half the price I paid.

I posted my solid oak brand new king size bedframe on Facebook marketplace (that I paid over $1200 for) for $250 because I’m not naïve to the idea that just because I paid that much for it means that someone else needs to cover the entirety of the cost; but someone offered me $100. Like are you fucking crazy? People need to get a grip.

@Lexi The crib I have posted is also solid oak with upholstered side pannels. It has the ability to turn into a toddler bed as well. Spent well over 2,000 for it and have it listed for $900. Offer was $375

That should be considered a crime. A CRIME. WHO do people think they are???

@Lexi and then to get mad at you when you dont accept their offer....

Yes! Any bag or clothing I resell is in next to perfect condition and some still even have tags. The entitlement is out of this world. What you posted sounds so beautiful and your asking price was beyond fair 🙄

I don’t get angry but I definitely ask!

@ALI Asking is one thing and if all remains respectful it is fine. Its when they get upset with you or really low ball that it is an issue.
