Baby Carrier

Hello! Are our babies old enough, or big enough to go forward facing in a baby carrier? Can they be placed in the carrier with their legs out at this age? My baby girl is just over 10 lb and will be 3 months on the 27th. The Moby wrap is not working out so well and I can't get her legs tucked in anymore. I want to try some more traditional baby carriers but I don't know if she's too little.

They usually say if they have good head control you can put forward facing

You can use a structured carrier now instead of a wrap, but not forward facing yet as they’re still too young. Thebabywearing.ot on Instagram has great info on all things carrying and baby wearing!

I wear my son fowards . He has good head control and usually rest on one side anyways

The wraps you don’t have to tuck in legs … just make sure they are in an M shape so the hips are good. Mine is 13.8lb and moby still works great for us. Also I like when she faves me bc she can bury her face when she wants if it gets too loud or bright.

You can have their legs hang in the moby and any soft stretchy wrap. They don’t have to be tucked in. That being said, the bigger the baby, the less comfortable the soft stretchy wraps are in my opinion. Most front facing carriers aren’t great with leg positions. You don’t want baby’s legs to just dangle down. Once they have head control, I highly recommend a soft structured wrap like an ergo as babies get big.
