Nursery/ preschool

How long did it take for your little one to settle? And how old were they? My little boy is 2 years 3 months and he’s really struggling (and so am I) keep thinking about just giving up!

It took a week of settling in sessions which we slowly built up each day. She was about 3 and a couple months? She’d never been to a nursery setting and she’s thrived. Does he stay by himself or are you still there? X

@Liv he only goes two days a week, but we’re slowly building the hours up. We did one with me there and now he’s on his own x

Are you abit anxious about him going as well? I know when I was feeling that way my girl could definitely feel it too. You’ve just gotta bare with it as I bet he’s playing and having fun when you aren’t there, my girl was having the time of her life until she saw me and cried! X

@Liv I am anxious, but once I’m gone he’s still upset. I rung and they said he’s crying and I turned up and he was crying 😓

Mine has just started last week and continuing this week. Starts properly next week, for 2 days a week. For her it’s the same, cries when I’m not there but I know she wants to play and whatnot. xo

Mine was 12.5months and went Monday half day and Tuesday full day, it took a couple of months to settle I think due to 5 day gap. He is 20 months now and has loved it for the past 6-7 months and goes in himself, from September he’ll be going in mon,Tues, Thurs and Fridays half days which should be an even better routine xx

@Lorraine how are you holding up? I’m really struggling, I hate the fact that he’s crying when I’m not there, I don’t know whether to persist or not x

I mean it is hard for them as well us mums, over time it will get better. With her nursery, they have a parents room where we can go to to see if they settle and then they call to us if their crying. Better to do it bit by bit but also, good for them to have one to one with a staff so they feel comfortable. xo

9 months and took 1 month 😢
