Are trucks a bad switch from an SUV when you have a child?

I love our SUV, it’s so comfortable, I love that I can throw things in the trunk and still have access to it without it being in my way. I can also fit the stroller in the trunk and I’m worried the truck trunk will be too difficult to throw the stroller in because I’ll have to lift it higher to put it in and now I’m wondering if the stroller will slide around so much that it might be difficult to get the stroller out if it slides all the way to the back. Also, when I unlock the car I have to wait a couple extra seconds for the foot stool then to unfold so I can put my daughter in which makes me worry about safety if I have to wait an extra few seconds just to put her in. Also, my husband is bad with money and is always complaining how we need to save money but wants to get a truck which will cost a little more on gas so I’m not ready to hear him complain even more about money and say we can’t get little things because we don’t have enough which he already says. But he claims that the truck will be better to resell later on because they’re worth more in the long term than our Durango SUV. Also, the interior of the trucks WREAKED on cigarette smoke and I can’t handle one whiff of it because of my bad asthma. So idk if dealers are capable of ridding that scent completely or not. I just feel like this truck is going to be uncomfortable & inconvenient for me as a mom. What do you guys think? What’s your experience?

I have an SUV and my partner has a truck and I love both honestly. I always feel like my daughter is safe in his truck because it's big. I wouldn't put her in it if it smelled like smoke though, it might be better to get it detailed to try and rid the smell.

We have both a hemi pickup truck and Escalade SUV. I love the SUV more. Want to get rid of the truck so bad to get a convertible. But they both are paid off so he wants to keep both and just get a car. I’d say yes bad switch comfort wise but gas wise no if you have the cover for the back. The cover really makes a difference. Search around a bit more. Find one that doesn’t smell like smoke.

We had a truck i loved that truck but it wasn't family friendly ..it got traded for suv

It will take a very long time to get the smell out. You can minimize it but it will always be there

Unless you need to haul dirt, hay, building materials, etc. more often than children, don’t even think about it lol
