On the go formula making bottles

Hi all, a bit of a silly question... how do you make up your bottles on the go. I understand you get a vacuum flask, a tub to keep your premeasured formula and your bottles. Do you make pour the boiled water from the kettle straight away into the flask or wait the 30 mins? How do I know the water is hot enough to kill bacteria and not hot enough to kill the nutrients. I really want to try making a bottle out and about but do not feel confident as of yet. Thank you in advance, A ftm x

Commenting so I can come back to this post as wondering the same thing x

I pour in the boiling water into the flask straight away, over time it will somewhat cool down a little anyway in the flask. When I need to make a bottle I will measure out the water into the bottle, pour majority of it into a cooling flask (we use the tommee tippee one) and leave enough in the bottle do mix in the formula that’s already pre measured in the tub, once water is cooled I pour back into the baby bottle and all done x

I bought a kitchen thermometer off amazon for like £5 to check the temp of the water in the flask 👍 I take 2 flask out with me 1 with boiling Hot water and one with cooled boiled water and just do the hotshot method .. I do this in home and when out and about. I have tried everyway possible over the past 10 weeks and find this works the best x

I personally boil my kettle and then pour the boiled water in the flask straight away. I then have my formula pots, with the premeasured formula and my Nuby Rapid Cool. I will measure out the water into the bottle, and then I will pour majority of the water in the rapid cool, but leave a hot shot at the bottom, around 10ml per oz of formula, add in my formula and swirl to make sure it’s all dissolved and then after the rapid cool has cooled the boiling water down usually less than 30 seconds I pour the cooled water into the bottle!xx

@Pauli I don't understand how do you sterilise the cooling flask each time you need a feed? Xx

@Chemaine Lillian I don’t, it’s only hot water going into it x

@Tiffany this is exactly how I do it!x

There are different ways you could : Get a nuby ( on the go prep machine) this will make the bottle up for you to the correct temperature - have your milk in a pot put the correct amount of milk baby has into the nuby - get a flask boil the kettle and put the hot water into the flask (it will cool down) - pour the milk into the nuby and water to the correct line ( depending how much milk is having per feed) - shake the nuby and it will tell you on top when it is ready to pour into baby’s bottle Or you could - use the milk pots with the correct amount of milk in - use a flask with hot water from the kettle - pour the milk straight into baby’s bottle and pour the water from the flask to the correct amount on the bottle - put the bottle in cold water to cool down and use your wrist to check the temperature of milk for baby There are YouTube videos on products that might help you xx

Does pouring boiling wAter with formula kill the nutrients? I poor the boiling water with powder in my nuby rapid cool then cool it down x
