I found it was actually so much better to find friends than a partner when I wasn’t actually ready to date yet. My ex had isolated me from old friends and I was able to reconnect after we split and that has been so good for my mental health and helps with the loneliness. It still creeps up sometimes but not nearly as bad.
That sounds really hard. Especially when you have to still see the person. More time and doing things that make you feel good can help, even the little things. If you don't have separate spaces then having certain zones that are off limits to each other may be helpful. You can be that partner for yourself until love finds you again
