We just go off of how things are going! If baby is fussy before bed and we want to calm him down, we may keep him there a bit longer. If he’s dirty and we just need to get him cleaned? It’s shorter. It just depends on you, your baby, and how they feel about the water! 😊
I bathed both babies once their umbilical cord had fallen off so I think about 10 days old for my first and about 22 days old for my second and tbh it was always short as they hated it those first 6-8 weeks 😅 best thing to do is put a muzzy over them and keep covering them in the warm water. X
I learned to bathe my baby while she was in the Nicu and they nurses would tell me to keep the entire process under 30 minutes. That said, it also included the prep and the after care. I would keep her in there for 10 minutes to clean her up and it helps to wrap them in a swaddle or long washcloth. Now my girl is so calm during bath time.
No expert but I wouldn’t have a newborn in the bath more than 5mins as they can get cold easily.
If his cord has come off and is dry you can bath him from then. I guess there’s no limit on time really but about 5 mins or less is probably around how long it’ll be. My son didn’t really like the bath at that age though lol. He’s 7m now and we still only do about 10 or so mins! Congratulations on your new baba ❤️
