At what point do they ask for a fit to fly?

I’m at the airport now and wondering at what point do I really suck in my stomach? Is it security?

Can you suck your bump in?! I can’t a suck mine in at all 🤣🤣 but my midwife said 28 weeks for most single and uncomplicated pregnancy 🤰

I flew at 26 weeks and 5 days last year. I didn’t suck anything in. (Had to fly due to military move) also it was across the ocean to Hawaii… they have stricter rules when flying over the ocean

I flew with TUI at 20 weeks and was advised by the airline I'd need a fit to fly. I got one from my doctors, but was never asked for it x

@Holly yeah actually in the mornings it hides in pretty well 😂 hence the morning flight

How many weeks are you? I would worry about getting one. As long as your insured and you are not being totally irresponsible by flying late on in your third trimester

Most airlines are 36 weeks but there’s also a lot that don’t require at all. Look at your airline policy it will say if they require a dr note and if so when

I was asked at check in by BA and Qatar

@Francesca no no I’m only 24, but heard some horror stories about BA denying people at 16 weeks already without a fit to fly

I've never been asked for one! Flew with BA numerous of times pregnant. Just ask midwife just incase they do! Or wear a baggy t shirt x

I flew to Romania last week and I'm 26 weeks pregnant with Ryanair and no one even asked me about my fit to fly letter

It varies between airlines so I’d checked their requirements first, but typically most ask for a fit to fly from 29 weeks. But if you have a larger bump earlier in your pregnancy you might want to get a letter to ensure there are no obstructions to your travel.

I’ve never been asked for one. Also how do they know how pregnant you are? I would cover with your handbag 😂
