So confused about breastfeeding and poos!

I just don't know what's going on and am losing way too much sleep over this... everything and everyone tells you that an EBF baby up to around 6weeks should poop at least twice a day. If they don't it's a "red flag" for insufficient milk transfer. But what if they're only pooping every few days yet they still have plenty of wet nappies and they are gaining weight as expected?? Then what? I can never find an answer to WHY should they be pooping 2+ times a day... or what is happening if they aren't, but feeding seems OK. IBCLCs seem really hung up on the poos and slam other professionals who suggest otherwise, basically saying they are wrong and don't understand because they haven't had specialist training, so I've seen a GP and health visitor etc. who say it could just be normal, but without fully understanding WHY we should expect that many poos, I can't be confident in their advice. Does anyone know anything about this please? How can a baby be putting on weight and weeing loads but not getting enough milk to poo...?

If weight gain is good then try not to overthink it tbh! There's a 'standard' amount because that's what most do, but it doesn't mean that all of them should, I'm assuming because breast milk is thinner than formula it gets processed through more quickly. Maybe your milk is just a bit thicker or something! There's no real non invasive way to find out for sure but if there was a major bowel issue or something it would likely become clear very quickly and baby wouldn't be thriving.

My health visitor told me an EBF baby won't poo every day as breastmilk is highly digestible, so baby will absorb almost all of the nutrients and there will be no waste to poop out. My baby would go upto 6 days without pooping sometimes. I think they only worry if babe is under 6 weeks and hasn't pooped for 3 days x

I ebf 3 babies. They all had different pooing habits. The first pooped multiple times day, lots of little poops, she was also the most colicky and snacks feeder. The twins pooped every couple of days and they were like change your outfit size. All gained weight and overall normal amount of small baby content so I wasn't worried x
