Eat all the haribo you can get your hands on haha! I might be in similar situation, got my ogtt next week. Do you mind me asking did you have accelerated growth which prompted the testing?
@Katie I have high BMI so was tested early anyway which was negative but my last 3 urine samples have had glucose ++ in and I had a growth scan yesterday and the baby’s belly was measuring slightly big but nothing major!
I’m on max dose for metformin and inject myself 5+ times a day with insulin When you go out shopping try and get low carbohydrate foods , limit your pasta, potatoes. Rice. Bread wheat change full fat drinks for sugar free try n keep away from high sugar treats try and eat protein when eating carbs , have 1 quarter of your plate of carbs , I literally weigh all my carbs it’s very time consuming but it’s worth it to keep baby at a healthier weight x
@Kirsty perfect Thankyou! It was a bit of a shock like here’s your diagnosis see you in a week🤣 I was feeling a bit unsure on what to do for little one now rather then cause more harm in the week waiting! Luckily I was only borderline 🙌 I will def take all that on board! that sounds tough having to inject yourself so much 😩
The food side of things has been very hard I just want to sink my teeth into a nice cake or bag of sweets burn it’s just not worth it, I’ve got soooo much chocolate and sweets under my bed from Halloween and Xmas 😆 so once I’ve had baby I’ll be eating what ever I want for the first month and then the diet will start 😆 the insulin side of things I’m used to it don’t bother me it’s just not nice seeing my stomach so bruised from injection …, try and change your.. rice to basmati White bread to brown Normal pasta to wholemeal Jacket Potatoes to sweet potatoes jacket spuds Normal mash to carrot and swede mash Nuts , bread sticks, hummus, cracker bread are great for snacking on If you need any help feel free to message me xx
Depends how bad is it. I tested positive but only just ‘failed’ and have been eating pretty normally and been well below levels. I still think I just had a bad day when I was tested 😂
Nothing you have to do. I have been on meds for it, now on a monitor placed on my right hand. I am on the highest dose of the meds and I'm 32 weeks +.
