It’s actually not “safer” the safest spot would be where you get the best install! We use behind passenger seat cause it has latch there but there’s not in the middle.
Now that we have two they go on the backseats near the doors but when we had one the base stayed in the middle. It still scares be because of the airbags but there is no other options sometimes
I have 4 kids and have never put my baby in the middle. They go right behind the drivers seat, next oldest goes behind passenger side and the oldest 2 go in the back. Totally not feasible for them to go in the middle seat especially when you have multiple car seats. Even multiple booster seats suck having next to each other.
Either way I’m way too short to reach the car seat. My daughter is on the passenger side
We have two kiddos, so there’s one on either side in the back of our car.
I have a 3 month old and a 12 year old. My little one is in the middle of the back seat with her big sister next to her. When big sister was little, she was in the middle. Yes, it's annoying to climb inside the car to put her in the middle but it's an inconvenience I'll deal with for her to be in the safest spot in the car. I have yet to travel with my dogs and the baby but I imagine my only change will be me riding in the back seat with my little one to make sure there's no issues with the dog that rides in the back seat usually.
Captain seats, my 4 month old sits behind the passenger seat
I did with my first, but I have three kids and a minivan now.
I have captains seats so it’s not an option. I don’t think outboard seats are unsafe by any means
