Just to add it would be fine for a younger child but it’ll be a while til they can operate it themselves which is what we got ours for really
We have one for our 2 y/o and in hindsight I would have waited another year! We have a few different story characters that he loves like Gruffalo and Paddington, but when he puts one on then takes it off and puts another on, it starts from the beginning. So it’s actually really annoying and I’ve heard the beginning of Bear Hunt about 7,000x 😆 Think when he’s 3/4 it’ll be really good
We were given one and I'm yet to see the benefit, because I sing and read stories myself! Although I'm sure when my little one gets older it'll be good
@Pia you can record yourself reading stories on the one that comes with it
@Pia ooh perfect. Great if you don’t have space left for massive toys x
@Allie ooh really 🤣 thank you, maybe not the best present for his first bday then but one to keep in mind for the future x
@Allie exactly this, more fun to just play with the little figures than actually listen 🤪
We have had one for our 2 year old since her first birthday and personally I don’t understand the people saying wait, she grasped how to work it really quickly. But yeah you just change the characters for different stories/songs but my daughter can do that herself. I sing songs and read to my daughter too but she uses it to settle herself to sleep which is a bonus. We’ll be getting my 8m old one for her 1st birthday too
I have one for my 8 month old. She loves it and dances to ones with music. We don’t offer screen time though so we’ve found it a useful tool to have alongside play time, bath time, bed time etc and we sometimes put a story on while she’s eating dinner x
We got my eldest a yoto instead. It's great and helps with bedtime. My August baby isn't interested though so although I'd recommend I'd 2nd no hurry. Also it made a great birthday present, for her first two birthdays we said no gifts and people still got her things. For her 3rd we said no gifts necessary but if you'd like to get her something a yoto card is one idea. It worked really well as she didn't end up with loads of stuff and cards range a lot in price (less than tonies) so people didn't feel they had to spend a lot.
We have one for our 4yo and tbh he’s only just getting the hang of it 🤪 Yes you buy the box and it comes with one (although not sure what’s on it as never used it) and then you can buy others and each one has stories or songs etc on it. They are around £15 each so make good gift ideas to tell people when you don’t want more enormous toys in your house 😅
