I was measuring big (99th percentile) went for a growth scan at 35 weeks and he was 7.5lbs. Asked for an elective c-section for my own reasons, he was born 40+2 weeks at 8.9lbs
@Isobel thank you for this, she did say it is in line with the the previously measuring tape so following the same curve, hopefully the scan will confirm this
@Sarah ahh okay so last time they did not tell me the weight assume they will this time?
They gave me a print out after the appointment. Stated the cord pulse, his weight etc
I have the opposite. Scans are showing a 90th centile baby, belly is measuring 50th… My first was measuring around 40th centile with the tape and was born 75th (4kg). Tape measurements are pretty inaccurate
@Jennifer okay that’s good to know thank you!
Measuring with the tape is very inaccurate which is why they will send you for a scan to double check. If the last scan showed baby at the 60th then they should stay on that growth curve and still be around the 60th. You won’t need to be induced for having a big baby if they are still around the same place
